Welcome. My name is Michelle Miller and I am a pianist and teacher residing in Edmonton, Alberta, where I run a thriving piano teaching studio in my home. I LOVE teaching piano lessons and Music for Young Children classes! In fact, I have been doing so since 1993 when I started my first year of university as a Music Major.

My studio offers music classes and piano lessons that are comprehensive, engaging and fun.  It’s my greatest desire as a teacher to celebrate the uniqueness that is each student and want both parents and students to know that my hope for them as they pursue lessons is that they will find a love for music, joy in the music making and go forward with  a lifelong ability to make and create music to the best of their ability and in whatever way resonates most for them.

Another passion of mine is life-long learning and I enjoy regular participation in conferences, seminars, webinars and mentorship opportunities.  I’ve studied music for more than 30 years and still enjoy working on my performance and teaching skills.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music at Trinity Western University and the ARCT Teacher’s Piano pedagogy exam with the Royal Conservatory of Music.  I completed a rigorous MYCC certification through Music for Young Children and UMTC certification with Ultimate Music Theory. I am also certified as an Advanced Specialist in Piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music Teacher Certification Program, a member of the Alberta Piano Teacher’s Association and a registered music teacher with ARMTA.

I had the privilege of beginning my career at MacEwan University Conservatory of Music where I taught early childhood music classes for seven years.  The freedom I had to build my own curriculum within the framework of the program’s objectives along with excellent mentoring from experienced faculty members is something I will always be so grateful for.

I enjoy living steps from the beautiful Edmonton River Valley with my husband Ken and my two children (now teenagers!), Delaney and Dexter, who have also been my students since they were quite small.

I look forward to welcoming you to my studio!
