Wow, here we are already a few days into November! And lots of things to tell you about!
FALL BREAK
Next week, November 11-15, there will be NO lessons. If you had a look at the calendar that I sent home with each student and emailed out at the beginning of the year, then you already know this! 😉 If you’ve lost track of that calendar you can find it here on this website under Schedule and Calendar! 😉
Each year in November all of my Sherwood Park and ME Lazerte students have a fall break and I decided this year that I would try incorporating this into our studio schedule. We have been working so hard over the last 8 weeks or so and a I thought that chance to regroup might be a nice option for both my students and myself. For myself, I will be using the extra time to re-organize and get ready for the upcoming Christmas recital. I am hoping to use my time next week so sort out all the ensemble options I am looking at and put some things and ideas down on the agenda for our annual Christmas recital. We will still get in all of our 34 lessons by or before the middle of June
I am hoping–actually I am strongly encouraging–all my students to use next week to get caught up on anything they felt they were falling a bit behind on AND to get a real head start on their Christmas recital pieces by making that the main focus of their practice for that week.
CHRISTMAS RECITAL
The Christmas recital will be here before we know. I am hoping that the head start we are getting on the Christmas pieces this year will mean less last minute cramming for all of us this year. The date of our Christmas Recital is on that infamous calendar I mentioned earlier, but in case you have forgotten: Friday, December 13, 2013, 6:30pm at the First Church of the Nazarene 14320 94 street.
VIDEO OF THE MONTH CLUB
The November video of the month will be revealed soon! Hope you enjoyed last month’s video! 😉
